Menlo Innovations, founded in 2001, is a software design and development firm whose Menlo Software Factory is in the Kerrytown District of downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. Menlo's clients come to them with ideas for software products that Menlo designs and then builds. Menlo's designers uses their trademarked High-tech AnthropologyTM process to ensure that the delivered software will be widely adopted and used by the target end-user audience. Menlo's unique design and development approach is so compelling that over 10% of its annual revenues come from clients who learn the Menlo Software Factory process in formal classes taught by Menlo staff. In the five years since Menlo's founding, its President has been featured on the cover of Forbes, the facility has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, its process has been the subject of two books and Menlo has won numerous business achievement awards.
The Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD), founded in 1895, is a multi-disciplinary society uniting engineering, scientific, and allied professions to enhance professional development and foster excitement in math and science to produce our next generations of leaders. Throughout its existence, ESD has been a leader, whether in promoting the engineering and scientific professions or by providing invaluable technical assistance to the community. ESD enjoys the overwhelming support of industry within the metro Detroit region. With several hundred corporate and several thousand individual members throughout the Great Lake Region, ESD unites engineers, scientists, architects and those in related technical fields in a common goal - the advancement and promotion of the profession.
