Individual assessments are provided to people who are concerned that their English pronunciation interferes with communication. As a result, people often have lower self confidence, receive criticism on their performance reviews, miss out on promotions, experience ineffective customer and peer relations, are less than adequately prepared for interviews, and struggle with a host of other problems as a result of ineffective English proficiency.
Accent Reduction Institute (ARI) assessments provide both a metric for determining the areas in which a person lacks pronunciation ability, and the instructional feedback to solve the problem. ARI assessments include:
- A 30 minute live interview with a senior ARI faculty member. These interviews are given either on-site or via teleconferencing.
- A written assessment detailing the phonological areas that require pronunciation accuracy. These areas include vowels, consonants, and patterns of rhythm, syllable stress, rate of speech, and intonation.
- A customized guide that teaches the techniques necessary for the individual to speak with clarity and precision. This guide gives both written and audio instruction, as well as tailor-made practice material for long-term language acquisition.
Individuals who use ARI assessments and teaching guides consistently experience increased confidence and productivity, enhanced business relationships, and professional recognition for improved job performance.
"I didn't know I had a problem...I couldn't do an R or an L --- not at all. Now I can make these sounds every time."
